Approximately on August 31, 2017 Day of Arafah, yaum Arafa, takes place. This day is the ninth day of the islamic month Dhu l-Hiddscha. It is the second day during Hajj, the great Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca. On this day the participating muslims walk from Mina to Arafat, where they say their prayers together and wait for the sunset. After sunset, they rush to Muzdalifah, where they again pray together and spend the night. All muslims around the world, who are not able to witness Hajj spend this day in fasting and preparing for Eid ul-Adha, a celebration marking the end of Hajj.
