The Flemish Community Day or Feast Day of the Flemish Community is observed annually on July 11, 2017 by the Flemish Community of Belgium. On this day the Flemish Community commemorates the Battle of the Golden Spurs, which took place on July 11th in 1302. Due to its victory, Flanders ensured it's autonomy in Belgium. The Flemish Community is one of three institutional communities of Belgium, besides the French Community and the German-speaking Community. The Flemish Community Day is a big celebration in Brussels with its highlight the so called Brussels Dances. The main events take place at the Groto Market and at De Munt.
