International Francophonie Day or Journée Internationale de la Francophonie takes place on March 20, 2017. On March 3 in 1970 the Niamey Convention had been signed to establish the organization, now known as Organization of La Francophonie. International Francophonie Day is all about the French language and observed by the 77 member states of that organization. French is spoken on every continent, and originates from France in Western Europe.
It is Romance language, spoken by 220 million speakers all over the globe and is the official language in 29 countries. Everyone can celebrate International Francophonie Day by listen to French song or search the internet for some easy French vocabulary like "On y va!" for "Let's go!" International Francophonie Day inspired the United Nations to set the date for their UN French Language Day on March, 20, too.
