Frankenstein Day is celebrated on August 30, 2017 to honor Mary Wollenstone Shelley, the author of Frankenstein. The birthday of the author was chosen as date for this holiday. Frankenstein is a novel first published anonymously in 1818. It is a story about a young Swiss called Victor Frankenstein who is able to create an artificial man. Mary Shelley was a British novelist of the early 19th century. With Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus she wrote one of the most famous pieces, and entered into the history of literature.
