According to Muslim faith, with Laylat al Barat on April20, 2019, the time of religious reflection starts and leads to the holy month of Ramadan. This event takes place on the night between the 14th and the 15th of the holy month of Sha'ban. Due to the lunar calendar, which is used in the Islamic world, the date varies every year in the Gregorian solar calendar. According to tradition, the Prophet Muhammad referred to this special night and the goodness of Allah, and motivated the people to stay awake at night and to fast during the day.
At this Night of Bara'at, Allah is particularly beneficial and hears more prayers than in other nights. Furthermore good deeds are double-counted during this night. Faithful Muslims worldwide spend this night praying at home or in the solemnly lit mosques. As on other Muslim holidays, it is also common to think of deceased family members. Therefore often their graves are visited and something for the common good is done.
