Ratification Day is celebrated in the United States on January 14, 2021. This day commemorates the ratification of the Second Treaty of Paris by the Continental Congress in 1784 at the Maryland State House in Annapolis, Maryland. On January 14, 1784 Britain acknowledged the independence of its former 13 colonies which formed the United States of America as an independent and sovereign nation. The ratification ended the American Revolutionary War between Britain and its 13 colonies in North America. Each year a ceremony takes place in the State House where the treaty was signed and a flag in the design of those days is displayed over the State house.
