World Basketball Day 2026

World Basketball Day is celebrated on December 21, 2026. It was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2023 and is observed annually from 2024 onwards. The date marks the anniversary of the invention of basketball in 1891 by James Naismith.
