Young Readers Day takes place on November 10, 2020. It is celebrated each year on the second Tuesday in November. Young Readers Day is a chance to celebrate it with your children by reading to them and with them. Why not give them a new book on this day as an intelligent investment in your childrens future?
Reading is a complex cognitive process of decoding symbols in order to construct or derive meaning. It is a means of language acquisition, of communication, and of sharing information and ideas. Like all language, it is a complex interaction between the text and the reader which is shaped by the reader’s prior knowledge, experiences, attitude, and language community which is culturally and socially situated.
The reading process requires continuous practice, development, and refinement. Reading is typically an individual activity, although on occasion a person will read out loud for the benefit of other listeners. (With material from: Wikipedia)
