Feast of Saint George 2025

The Feast of Saint George is celebrated in Palestine every year on May 05, 2025. Al-Khader, as the holiday is also known to Palestinians is celebrated by Christians as well as Muslims. Saint George was a Roman soldier who ordered his death for failing to recant his Christian faith. He is one of the most venerated saints. Already on the evening of May 05, people gather for a picnic around the St. George’s Church in Al-Khader Village. On the next day the people visit the Monastery of Saint George and trade bread loves and sacrifice an animal.
