World Conjoined Twins Day is observed on November 24, 2025. It has been marked annually since 2020 and was initiated by international awareness groups and conjoined twins advocates. The date was chosen to commemorate the arrival of Chang and Eng Bunker in the United States on 24 November 1829, historically the most widely known conjoined twins.
The day aims to raise awareness about the medical, ethical and social aspects of life as a conjoined twin. It supports inclusive healthcare, research and public understanding of the condition, which occurs when identical twins fail to fully separate during early embryonic development.
World Conjoined Twins Day promotes accurate information, family support and respectful representation. Activities include medical forums, public talks and campaigns to highlight the experiences and rights of conjoined twins worldwide.
