World Logic Day is celebrated on January 14, 2026. It was proclaimed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2019 and has been observed annually since 2020. The date was selected to mark the death of logician Kurt Gödel and the birth of philosopher Alfred Tarski, both of whom made major contributions to the field.
The aim of the day is to highlight the significance of logic in science, technology, philosophy and education. It promotes logical reasoning as a foundation for critical thinking and informed decision-making.
World Logic Day encourages academic and public engagement with logic through events, lectures and collaborative projects. UNESCO supports the development of logical education as part of responsible citizenship and lifelong learning.
